About Me

Welcome to Passports and Prosecco!

My name is Jen, an American living in Switzerland. Passports & Prosecco is my passion project and creative outlet to share my travel adventures, love of photography and anything else fun that life throws my way.

I’m a firm believer in trying new things and this blog is a prime example of that. If you feel it, do it … If not, now, then when? At the heart of it, I want to share the things I’m most passionate about and hopefully inspire some of you along the way.

As my blog name suggests, I’m an avid traveler and have a love for Prosecco … but why start a blog? I’ve always been an extremely organized person and that bodes well for travel planning. My friends often ask questions about my travels and for suggestions on planning so instead of writing separate emails, I decided to share it all in one place.

So, who am I? I am a born and raised Florida girl that has always had a passion for adventure. My childhood summers were spent living on our boat in the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas. At a young age I learned to spearfish and dive and had an incredible appreciation for exploring. For as long as I can remember I’ve always had a thirst for learning and experiencing all that this big beautiful world has to offer!

My sister moved to England when I was in high school and that gave me my first taste of Europe and I was hooked! My mother and I would visit her often and together we traveled throughout England, Scotland and Wales and I was in awe of the history and architecture. I’m certain I inherited my love of travel from my mom as we also enjoyed exploring together throughout the USA and many of the Caribbean Islands. In my twenties, I became even more adventurous and traveled solo throughout France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Holland and so begins my PASSION for world travel.

I’m lucky enough to have also been blessed with an extended family that loves to travel as well. Thanks to my mother and father in law’s incredible generosity, as a family we’ve explored many of the US National Parks and some incredible island destinations.

That leads me to, how did I end up in Switzerland? At the end of 2016 my husband was offered a job in Switzerland and we jumped at the opportunity! We knew it would be an adventure and we were up for the challenge. We sold our cars and boat and I left my career in pharmaceutical sales (which I loved!) but we knew that this would be a once in a lifetime experience and we had to do it! With the support of our family and friends we were off on our new exciting adventure.

I’ve now been in Switzerland for 3.5 years and have had the opportunity to see so many places that I had only dreamed of! Throughout my lifetime, I’ve checked numerous places off my bucket list and I’m so excited to share my photos and travel diaries with you. I hope my travel blog will help inspire you to take the steps towards booking a ticket to your dream destination.
